Aaron Schillinger

Aaron Schillinger is a director, producer, editor and animator. His films include the award-winning documentary Boblo Boats: A Detroit Ferry Tale, narrated by Martha Reeves, distributed by PBS and streaming on Amazon, Apple TV and Xfinity. Detroit’s Olympic Uprising, which premiered during the 2024 Olympics, is his second feature-length documentary. Aaron is also cofounder of the Sarah E. Ray Project, an organization shining a light on the forgotten story of a Detroit civil rights pioneer.

Aaron graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He lives in Ferndale, Michigan, with his wife, son and an ornery macaw named Sinbad. When he’s not making movies, you can find Aaron foraging for wild edibles, reading sci-fi books and losing at overly complicated board games.
